ABOUT OUR PRACTICE
French Family Dentists was started in 1958 by Dr. John R. French. Dr. John was born and raised in Waterloo, NY and graduated from Waterloo High School in 1950. He attended Niagara University from 1950-1954. He then went on to the University of Buffalo Dental School graduating in 1958. Following graduation, Dr. John returned to Waterloo and bought a dental practice from Dr. Harry Yost. The practice was located at 14 W. Main St. above O’Dell’s Drug Store (which is now Valley Drug Store). In 1968, he moved the practice to its current location at 128 E. Main St.
Dr. John’s philosophy was always to help people and boost their self-esteem by practicing high quality dentistry. His son, Dr. Gregory L. French, joined the practice in 1985 following his graduation from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He also joined a practice, James Street Dental Arts, in Syracuse, NY. Dr. Greg continued to practice following his father’s philosophy, and later bought the Waterloo practice in 2004.
Dr. Greg completely renovated the office at that time. The practice is state of the art with digital X-rays, computers in each operatory. Cosmetic Dentistry, Implants, Invisalign, along with a full spectrum of dental services are provided. Dr. John and Dr. Greg practiced together until Dr. John’s retirement in 2016.
